Mba, Scores First Goal For Bastia.


2013 African Cup of Nations revelation, Sunday Mba, opened his goal-scoring account for Ligue 2 side CA Bastia on Tuesday night in the Coupe de France.

Mba, who joined Bastia early this year from Warri Wolves, helped the club level scores at 2-2 against Niort with just a minute to regulation time and force the game into extra-time at the Stade Armand Cesari.

With no goal in extra-time, Bastia won the ensuing penalty shootout 5-4 to advance into the next round of the championship.

Mba scored Bastia’s fourth spot-kick, after Alexandre Cropanese, Nicolas Di Fraya and Christophe Vicent had all converted.
The French Cup win on Tuesday was the first time the 25-year-old Nigeria international will play the whole 90 minute for the French outfit- his third since moving to France.
