The team was drawn from home-based players
The home based Super Eagles squad were Monday defeated 1-0 by Jordan in an international friendly match which took place at the Amman International Stadium.
This is the first international football meeting between Nigeria and Jordan at any level and Jordanians will be happy to score a win over the African champions albeit it was second string side made up only of players playing in the Nigeria League.
A penalty kick awarded in the dying stages of the first half and well converted by Jordan skipper Hartem Aqel was the difference between the two sides as the Nigerian team despite enjoying appreciable possession failed to do much with same.
The Jordan friendly is the first in a long list of international games that the Nigeria Football Federation is putting together for the home boys ahead of their campaign at the Africa Nations Championships in South Africa.
Jordan on their part were using Monday’s friendly to prepare for their 2014 FIFA World Cup play-off fixture against Uruguay.
Some of the home based stars who had a go at the Coach Hossam Hassan tutored Jordanian team includes cpatian Chigozie Agbim, Solomon Kwambe, Ebenezer Odunlami, Azubieke Egweukwe, Benjamin Francis, Ugonna Uzochukwu, Sunday Mba, Ejike Uzoenyi, Rabiu Ali and Oghenekaro Etebo amongst others.
